Job Title: Laboratory Operations Manager
Role Summary
Oversee day‑to‑day operations of a cell line and cell culture development laboratory, ensuring efficient use of equipment, compliance with safety and GMP standards, and timely inventory management. Acts as the primary point of contact for instrument maintenance, calibration, and documentation, while coordinating with cross‑functional teams to support research and development activities.

- Maintain laboratory disciplines and best practices across all equipment and consumables.
- Deliver accurate and timely equipment calibration and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure regulatory and safety compliance within the laboratory environment.
- Proactively improve lab workflows and resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, basic operations, and calibrations for cell counters (ViCell XR, BLU), cell culture analyzers (Nova Flex/ Flex2), rapid blood gas analyzers (RAPIDPoint 500e), bioreactor components (pH, DO probes), and other bench‑top instruments (OsmoTECH Pro, Cedex Bio HT, AMBR15/250).
- Calibrate pipettes according to company SOPs.
- Coordinate consumable and chemical inventory, removing expired items and ordering raw materials.
- Organize and conduct periodic cleaning of freezers, walk‑in cold rooms, biosafety cabinets, and other critical areas.
- Develop, update, and enforce best‑practice documentation for equipment use and procedure.
- Assist laboratory staff in media/solution preparation, autoclaving, and incubator maintenance.
- Manage instrument induction, connectivity, service contracts, and asset scheduling using the lab asset management system.
- Communicate lab status and updates via email, written reports, and presentations to stakeholders.
- Identify efficiency gaps and implement process improvements.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of cell culture technology and laboratory instrumentation.
- Proficiency in equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Inventory and supply‑chain management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret SOPs, safety data sheets, and regulatory documents.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; experience preparing reports and presentations.
- Organizational and time‑management skills; able to juggle multiple vendor and service calls.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering).
- Minimum 2 years of laboratory operations experience in a biopharmaceutical or research setting.
- Master’s degree is acceptable but not required.
- Certifications in laboratory quality or safety (e.g., CHOP, OSHA) are a plus but not mandatory.
