**Job title:** Senior Developer / Data Architect (AI & Machine Learning)
**Role Summary:** Senior architect and developer responsible for designing, building, and governing end‑to‑end AI/ML solutions, including large language model integration, across an enterprise Azure cloud platform.
**Expectations:** 12‑month contract, 2 days onsite per week. Own architecture, model delivery, data pipelines, governance, and stakeholder collaboration. Deliver secure, scalable, compliant solutions and mentor team members.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Define and own the end‑to‑end solution architecture for AI/ML initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise data governance and compliance.
- Establish best practices for integrating LLMs and ML solutions into business processes and data platforms.
- Partner with stakeholders, data engineers, and enterprise architects to design secure, scalable, high‑performance solutions.
- Build, train, fine‑tune, and deploy ML and LLM models using Python frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑learn) and Azure services (Synapse, ML, Data Factory, Storage).
- Develop and optimize data pipelines for ML workloads, implementing CI/CD, MLOps, and metadata management.
- Implement Microsoft Purview workflows for cataloguing, classification, and policy enforcement; drive data quality, lineage, and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to design responsible‑AI frameworks and data‑governance policies.
- Mentor team members, influence stakeholders, and stay current on emerging AI/ML and cloud‑based governance trends.
**Required Skills:**
- 10+ years software development with strong foundation in solution, data, and enterprise architecture.
- Expertise in ML model development/deployment (Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑learn) and LLM fine‑tuning, prompt engineering, retrieval‑augmented generation.
- Proficiency with Azure Synapse, Azure ML, Azure Data Factory, Azure Storage, and Azure native architecture.
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview for data cataloguing, classification, and compliance.
- Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks, data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
- MLOps experience (CI/CD for ML pipelines, automated testing, model versioning).
- Excellent communication skills for technical and business audiences.
- Knowledge of responsible AI, ethical AI frameworks, and real‑time streaming.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Microsoft Azure certifications: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, Azure AI Engineer Associate (or equivalent).
- Certifications in data governance or responsible AI are a plus.
