**Job Title:** Data Integration Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, develop, and maintain automated ETL workflows and integration solutions to synchronize student, staff, financial, and instructional data across SIS, HR, finance, and cloud applications. Manage identity provisioning, data governance, and security compliance while providing technical support and documentation.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver reliable, secure data integration services within a 2‑month contract, eligible for extension or permanent placement.
- Communicate effectively with district and campus stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams.
- Adhere to FERPA, state data privacy laws, and district governance standards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Design, code, and maintain ETL pipelines using SSIS, PowerShell, .NET, C#, and SQL Server.
2. Administer SQL Server: backups, restores, performance tuning, and schema reviews.
3. Manage student and staff rostering via Clever, ClassLink, OneRoster, SFTP platforms.
4. Integrate applications using REST, JSON, XML, webhooks; develop APIs and middleware.
5. Oversee identity lifecycle: Active Directory, Azure AD, Google Workspace provisioning and deprovisioning.
6. Implement OAuth2, SAML, OpenID Connect for authentication/authorization.
7. Document data ownership, stewardship, lineage, and maintain data flow diagrams.
8. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and FERPA compliance across all systems.
9. Support reporting and analytics tools (Power BI, Cognos, SSRS, Crystal Reports).
10. Train and mentor technical staff on integration tools and best practices.
11. Coordinate vendor support and resolve integration issues.
12. Enforce district cybersecurity policies and access controls.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficient in SSIS, PowerShell, .NET/C#, SQL Server.
- SQL Server administration (backup/restore, performance tuning).
- Experience with student rostering platforms (Clever, ClassLink, OneRoster).
- Identity management expertise (AD, Azure AD, Google Workspace).
- RESTful API integration: JSON, XML, webhooks.
- Authentication protocols: OAuth2, SAML, OpenID Connect.
- Data governance, FERPA, privacy compliance knowledge.
- Experience in K‑12 or public‑sector data environments.
- Strong scripting and automation capabilities.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (mandatory).
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft Certified: Data Engineer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer) are a plus.
- Knowledge of Ed‑Fi ODS standards is advantageous.
