Job Description

**Job Title:** Software Engineer in Test (SDET) **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for web UI and API services. Collaborate with Agile teams to ensure high‑quality releases by implementing robust test frameworks, integrating CI/CD pipelines, and applying best practices in test automation and service virtualization. **Expectations:** - Deliver reliable, maintainable automated test suites for Java‑based applications. - Ensure test coverage aligns with functional and non‑functional requirements. - Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement. - Communicate defects and test results clearly to developers and stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Build and enhance UI automation using Selenium and Cucumber (BDD). 2. Develop API automation scripts with RestAssured. 3. Implement test frameworks with Maven, integrate version control (GitHub) and CI pipelines (Jenkins). 4. Apply service virtualization to simulate dependent systems. 5. Manage test data, test environments, and containerized components (Docker) where applicable. 6. Track test execution, defects, and metrics in Jira/Confluence. 7. Support test planning, execution, and reporting throughout the STLC lifecycle. **Required Skills:** - Core Java (strong OOP) - Selenium WebDriver - RestAssured (API testing) - Cucumber (BDD) - Maven build automation - GitHub (source control) - Jenkins (CI/CD) - Service virtualization concepts - Testing concepts (STLC, test design, defect lifecycle) - Agile/Scrum or Scaled Agile methodology - Jira & Confluence for tracking and documentation **Preferred Skills (Nice to have):** - BDD implementation expertise - Docker / containerization - GitHub Copilot usage **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). - Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Certified Scrum Master) are optional but advantageous.
