**Job title**
Technical QA Analyst
**Role Summary**
Quality assurance professional responsible for ensuring reliability, scalability, and functional correctness of backend services and gameplay features that support the new player experience in a live‑service video game environment. Works with internal and external test teams to design test strategies, implement automation, and provide risk reporting throughout the development lifecycle.
**Expactations**
- 12‑month contract (minimum 30 hrs/week)
- Hybrid work model (onsite and remote)
- Ownership of quality for onboarding, tutorial, progression, entitlement, and reward services
- Collaboration with cross‑functional teams to mitigate release risks
**Key Responsibilities**
- Guide external test team in test suite creation, execution, and evaluation
- Design and execute API and service‑level test plans covering end‑to‑end player journeys (account creation, tutorial completion, reward unlock, client display)
- Identify and implement automation for regression, contract, and negative testing (e.g., PyTest, JUnit)
- Debug distributed service issues using logs, telemetry, and observability tools (Grafana, Kibana, Datadog)
- Support release preparation through canary deployments, A/B testing, and load testing strategies
- Produce clear risk and issue reports highlighting player impact
- Contribute to testing of AI/ML‑driven features and live‑service systems
**Required Skills**
- Gameplay QA, SDET, or backend‑focused testing experience
- Strong understanding of service‑oriented architecture, microservices, and APIs
- Proficiency with API validation tools (Postman, Insomnia)
- Experience with automation frameworks (e.g., PyTest, JUnit)
- Ability to debug distributed systems via logs, traces, and metrics
- Familiarity with load testing, contract testing, canary releases, and observability platforms (Grafana, Kibana, Datadog)
- Knowledge of competitive gameplay, onboarding friction, and live‑service PvP (Gold rank or higher; Diamond rank preferred)
- Prior work on MOBA or other live‑service competitive games
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred (not mandatory)
- No specific certifications required; demonstrated experience and skill proficiency are essential.
