Inventive Search is a recruitment consultancy that specialises in placing top talent, within the technology sector globally. We work very closely with our clients to fully understand their recruitment needs and challenges in todays current market.

Our goal is to only place candidates in positions where they will add value to our clients and produce outstanding results. We do this by spending time understanding the clients’ individual requirements and key business drivers that are unique to them; mentoring, interviewing and coaching both clients and candidates to ensure a successful outcome.

We pride ourselves in delivering a high level service to both clients and candidates, running different interviewing techniques, including presentations, panel interviewing, scenario based interviewing (SBI) amongst others. We use our years of experience to make sure this is the most efficient and cost effective way of bringing quality talent to our clients’ business.
We originated in the Technology sector working with large global tech companies helping them discover the top talent in the market; since then we have helped break smaller boutique companies into the UK marketplace. More recently, we have added a dedicated resource to focus on the construction sector.

Job Description

**Job Title:** Senior Infrastructure Engineer **Role Summary:** Hands‑on engineer responsible for delivering and supporting operating system and database upgrades, Azure cloud migrations, Microsoft 365 configurations, and backup/disaster‑recovery solutions across hybrid enterprise environments. Works closely with solution architects, internal IT teams, and third‑party suppliers to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant infrastructure changes. **Expectations:** - Minimum 5 + years of experience in Microsoft‑centric infrastructure engineering. - Proven track record in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) setting. - Ability to work collaboratively with architects and stakeholders while adhering to security and governance standards. - Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills; capable of independent technical discovery and issue resolution. **Key Responsibilities:** - Execute hands‑on implementation of OS, database, and Azure cloud migration projects. - Configure, support, and optimize Microsoft 365 services. - Deploy and maintain identity and access management (Active Directory / Azure AD). - Design, implement, and manage backup, monitoring, and disaster‑recovery solutions. - Conduct technical discovery, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting. - Coordinate activities with internal IT teams and external suppliers. - Ensure all changes comply with security policies, architectural guidelines, and operational governance. - Produce as‑built documentation and facilitate handover to operational teams. **Required Skills:** - Deep expertise in Microsoft Server environments (Windows Server, SQL Server, etc.). - Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, migration tools). - Proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration. - Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Azure AD (Entra ID). - Experience with backup and disaster‑recovery technologies. - Ability to support hybrid on‑premise/cloud infrastructures. - Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and documentation capabilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field **or** equivalent professional experience. - Relevant Microsoft certifications preferred (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, MCSA/MCSE).
