Job title: DevOps Engineer
Role Summary: Engineer, deploy, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for a high‑traffic SaaS runtime engine, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across Amazon Web Services. Collaborate with development teams to automate builds, monitoring, and incident response.
Expectations: Minimum 2 years DevOps / SRE experience, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). US citizenship required for federal project compliance. Strong coding background and self‑motivated continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, tests, and deployments.
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure-as‑code using Terraform/CloudFormation.
- Deploy and manage containerized workloads in Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and resilience.
- Implement observability stack (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) for performance and health metrics.
- Support local developer environments and tooling to streamline workflows.
- Conduct security audits, enforce IaC security best practices, and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and application incidents, reducing mean time to recovery.
- Evaluate and integrate new cloud, platform, and tooling technologies to enhance scalability and reliability.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in GitLab CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes (EKS or equivalent).
- Cloud expertise in AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch).
- IaC tools: Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
- Monitoring & observability: Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
- Database management: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
- Strong scripting (Bash, Python, or similar).
- Knowledge of security best practices for infrastructure and application.
- Sound problem‑solving and debugging capabilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
