Intern - IT Service Desk
Job Description
Job title: Intern – IT Service Desk Role Summary: A 6‑ to 12‑month internship providing front‑line technical support, hardware and software installations, and basic security incident response within an enterprise IT environment. Expectations: - Gain practical experience with IT service desk operations and best practices. - Act as the first contact for end‑user issues and learn to manage support tickets within SLA limits. - Develop documentation for recurring problems and assist with projects that support organizational IT goals. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver customer‑focused technical assistance to office and branch staff. - Log, track, and manage support calls in the internal ticketing system. - Troubleshoot, prioritize, and, when necessary, escalates issues while monitoring SLA compliance. - Identify trends in support requests and create knowledge‑base articles to reduce repeat incidents. - Assist with new PC and office hardware installations, setup, and imaging. - Install and test operational applications, updates, and operating system upgrades. - Respond to security alerts, collaborate with security operations, and ensure timely patching of endpoints. - Contribute to special projects that enhance IT services and efficiency. Required Skills: - Strong interest in technology and customer service. - Basic knowledge of networking concepts. - Familiarity with Windows operating systems, Office 365, and imaging tools. - Analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing priorities. Required Education & Certifications: - Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - No mandatory certifications required.
