Job Description
**Job Title** Transport Operations Director **Role Summary** Lead the transport service of the agency, ensuring efficient, compliant operations that meet commercial commitments and optimize economic performance. Coordinate with internal departments, clients, and subcontractors to manage drivers, schedules, and resources, while continuously improving processes and load factors. **Expectations** - Autonomous, decisive leadership of a multidisciplinary transport team. - Strong focus on process adherence, cost control, quality, and timely delivery. - Proactive optimization of route planning, driver utilisation, and contractual obligations. - Effective communication with clients, internal stakeholders, and subcontractors. **Key Responsibilities** 1. **Team Leadership** – Motivate and manage drivers, assistants, and supervisory staff across day and night shifts. 2. **Operational Management** – Ensure consistent, efficient activities; maintain clear communication within the team and with platform/administration services. 3. **Performance Optimization** – Drive improvements in load factors and adherence to commercial commitments. 4. **Compliance & Oversight** – Enforce transport processes, regulatory requirements, and labour hour tracking. 5. **Client & Internal Liaison** – Serve as the primary contact for agency operations for clients, contracted partners, and internal departments. 6. **Documentation** – Update and enforce transport service job descriptions and operational procedures. 7. **Route Improvement** – Analyse structural routing errors and lead initiatives for optimisation; collaborate with support transport teams on project proposals. 8. **Subcontractor Management** – Supervise relationships with subcontracted partners, monitor resource needs (drivers, equipment). 9. **Operational Arbitrage** – Resolve operational queries from platform operators and internal staff; balance resource allocation. **Required Skills** - Proven leadership in transport or logistics operations. - Strong decision‑making, organizational, and prioritisation abilities. - Process‑driven with a track record of delivering results. - Excellent written and verbal communication, team and stakeholder management. - Analytical mindset for route and resource optimisation. - Proficiency in IT tools (MS Office, transport management software). - Ability to work autonomously and effectively across multiple shifts. **Required Education & Certifications** - Minimum Bac+3 (equivalent) in Transport, Logistics, or related field. - Demonstrated experience in a comparable transport operations management role. - Knowledge of transport regulatory compliance; awareness of DOT 91 (or equivalent) requirements.
