Job Description: **Job Title** Full-Stack Software Engineer – Bioinformatics Integration & Platform Development **Role Summary** Design, develop, and maintain web and API solutions that connect laboratory workflows with bioinformatics pipelines. Produce scalable, secure, and performant applications, collaborate closely with scientists, and deliver automated data integration and visualization tools for internal scientific use. **Expectations** * Deliver production‑ready full‑stack features within a 12‑month contract. * Own end‑to‑end development from concept through deployment. * Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams (scientists, bioinformaticians, DevOps). **Key Responsibilities** * Design and implement web‑based tools and REST APIs for lab operations. * Build and maintain databases, ensuring efficient schema and data integrity. * Develop automation workflows for scientific processes. * Create data integration solutions and visualization dashboards. * Implement security, reliability, and performance best practices. * Deploy and operate applications in cloud environments (primarily GCP) using CI/CD, containerization, and DevOps workflows. **Required Skills** * 3–5 years of full‑stack development experience (React, HTML/CSS, TypeScript). * Python frameworks (Flask, FastAPI, Django); Node.js experience a plus. * Strong database design and management (PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL). * Proven deployment of cloud‑based applications (GCP preferred). * Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes. * Experience using GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow. * Excellent written and verbal communication, independent work, and stakeholder collaboration. * Bonus: experience with bioinformatics data, workflow tools (Snakemake), scientific libraries (Pandas, NumPy, R). **Required Education & Certifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience). * Relevant certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Developer) are an advantage.
