**Job Title:** Senior Security Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, integrate, and manage sophisticated security systems for large‑scale built‑environment projects. Lead cross‑disciplinary coordination with Fire, IT, Electrical, and Architecture teams; develop technical specifications; drive research into emerging technologies; and ensure compliance with global standards and legislation.
**Expectations:**
- Proven experience designing security solutions in commercial, institutional, or public‑sector settings.
- Proficiency in BIM and model‑based design tools (Revit, Navisworks, etc.).
- Solid understanding of design processes, standards (British Standards, Codes of Practice, ISO, etc.), and specification authoring.
- Ability to research and adopt new technologies, automate design workflows, and contribute to industry best practices.
- Strong communication skills to justify design decisions to senior staff and clients.
- Security clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance.
- Commitment to professional registration (e.g., IET, BCS, or equivalent).
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Lead engineering delivery for security projects across diverse sectors.
2. Coordinate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to achieve integrated and intuitive designs.
3. Prepare and maintain detailed technical specifications, drawings, and documentation.
4. Utilize BIM and other design software to model, analyze, and simulate security solutions.
5. Assume project management duties, including scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
6. Conduct research on emerging security technologies and embed findings into design processes.
7. Drive automation initiatives and improve design workflows.
8. Ensure all designs comply with legislation, standards, and client objectives.
9. Contribute to internal security project delivery standards and processes.
10. Report status and strategic decisions to senior leadership.
**Required Skills:**
- Design‑process expertise and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and related BIM tools.
- Technical specification writing and documentation.
- Project management (planning, scheduling, risk mitigation).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Quick learner with a keen interest in technology and automation.
- Basic coding knowledge (C# or similar) is advantageous.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems & Communications Engineering, or a comparable technology discipline.
- Professional registration with a recognized institution is preferred (e.g., IET, BCS).
- Current or attainable security clearance.
