**Job Title:** Cloud Architect (AWS)
**Role Summary:**
Senior professional responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Amazon Web Services (AWS) solutions that meet business objectives. Translates requirements into technical architectures, ensures security, reliability, performance, and cost‑effectiveness, and provides technical leadership and mentorship to architecture teams.
**Expectations:**
- Define and drive the organization’s AWS architectural vision.
- Deliver secure, scalable, and cost‑optimized cloud solutions.
- Lead migration projects from on‑premise data centers to AWS.
- Mentor and develop architecture team members.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop cloud strategies aligned with business goals.
- Design and document architectures (diagrams, specs) for compute, storage, databases, networking, serverless, PaaS/SaaS, and autoscaling solutions.
- Build, deploy, and manage production systems on AWS.
- Optimize cloud spend and resource utilization.
- Implement security best practices, data protection, access control, and compliance.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and scalability.
- Advise cross‑functional teams on AWS services, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Explore innovative AWS‑based automation and process‑improvement opportunities.
- Shape overall technical direction and advocate for modern architectural approaches.
- Lead, coach, and grow high‑performing architect teams.
**Required Skills:**
- Deep expertise in AWS core services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.).
- Proven experience with cloud‑native designs, serverless, autoscaling, and PaaS/SaaS patterns.
- Strong background in migrating workloads from on‑premise data centers to AWS.
- Architecture and design skills (creating diagrams, technical specifications).
- Cost‑optimization and resource‑management capabilities.
- Security and compliance knowledge (IAM, encryption, audit, GDPR/PCI‑DSS basics).
- Performance monitoring and incident troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Leadership, team‑building, and mentorship abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate with proven experience).
- Additional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Security Specialty) preferred.
