**Job Title** Senior Software Developer (Remote, Continental U.S.) **Role Summary** Lead the modernization of a legacy PHP application from CodeIgniter to Laravel as a Senior Software Developer. Shape architecture, mentor developers, deliver cloud‑based web solutions, and uphold quality, security, and performance standards in an agile environment. **Expectations** - Serve effectively as a technical lead and Sr. developer. - Lead full‑cycle migration of legacy applications to Laravel. - Mentor and promote best practices across the team. - Produce clean, secure, well‑documented, and test‑driven code. - Own code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and project tracking. - Maintain expertise in security, modern dev practices, and user‑centric design. - Demonstrate self‑directed problem solving and continuous learning. - Reside within the continental United States and be legally authorized to work in the U.S. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Design, develop, and deploy modern Laravel‑based applications. 2. Architect and oversee migration of CodeIgniter applications to Laravel. 3. Mentor teammates and facilitate knowledge sharing. 4. Write secure, efficient, and well‑documented code; implement rigorous testing. 5. Review and approve peers’ code to ensure quality. 6. Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) via Teams. 7. Track time, deliverables, and project status using internal tools. 8. Keep current with security best practices and modern development trends. 9. Advocate for a user‑first, empathetic design mindset. **Required Skills** - 8+ years of full‑stack PHP development with deep Laravel expertise. - Proven experience migrating legacy frameworks (CodeIgniter → Laravel). - Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks, especially Vue.js. - Strong front‑end skills: HTML, CSS, SASS/LESS. - Git version control and Unix/Linux command‑line proficiency. - RESTful API design and integration. - Docker and containerization knowledge. - Familiarity with AWS cloud services and deployment pipelines. - Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals. - Ability to build secure, scalable web applications. - Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
