Job Description
**Job Title** Test Engineer (Skill Levels 1‑3) **Role Summary** Conducts analysis, planning, and execution of Test & Evaluation (T&E) for defense and government systems. Applies government T&E concepts, modeling, simulation, and statistical methods to assess system performance, risk, and suitability. Produces T&E documentation, plans, and reports to support acquisition schedules and decision‑making. **Expectations** - Hold a TS/SCI clearance with full‑scope polygraph. - Minimum 2 years of T&E experience in similar government programs. - Ability to work cross‑functionally with Systems Engineering, acquisition, and data management teams. - Deliver accurate, data‑driven evaluation plans and reports within program timelines. **Key Responsibilities** - Review system requirements, acquisition plans, and operational concepts to define T&E scope. - Plan risk‑tailored performance estimation and analysis for inspection, demonstration, simulation, and physical test. - Analyze and prioritize performance risk areas; design testing strategies to reduce uncertainty. - Specify, validate, and adapt models and simulations for T&E use. - Apply statistical analysis to performance data for confidence assessment. - Execute evaluation plans, collect and authenticate data, and monitor program discrepancy reporting. - Coordinate with Systems Engineering to integrate functional analysis and system descriptions into T&E plans. - Design SME surveys, user assessments, and data sampling schemes to balance information needs and resource constraints. - Produce Evaluation Plans, Analysis Plans, Risk Assessments, Evaluation Reports, and status updates. - Ensure test readiness: equipment, training, security, legal, and privacy compliance. - Maintain knowledge of applicable government, national, and international standards. - Develop mitigation strategies for emerging T&E risks and recommend courses of action. - Participate in Integrated Test Teams or WIPT activities to synchronize T&E activities across the program. **Required Skills** - Government Test & Evaluation concepts and acquisition lifecycle. - Modeling & Simulation (M&S) development and validation. - Statistical analysis of performance data. - Risk assessment and mitigation planning. - Data collection, authentication, and discrepancy reporting. - Documentation of T&E plans, reports, and strategic products (e.g., TRAs, T&E Strategy, T&E Master Plan). - Familiarity with defense acquisition standards (e.g., AFI, DoD, or agency‑specific guidelines). - Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving abilities. - Effective communication and coordination across multidisciplinary teams. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Statistics, Engineering Management, or a closely related discipline (accredited institution). - TS/SCI clearance with full‑scope polygraph; eligibility to maintain clearance during employment. - Relevant engineering or acquisition certifications are a plus (e.g., ASQ, PMP, INCOSE, or equivalent). ---
