Job Description
Job title: Database Administrator (PaaS) Role Summary: Design, develop, and manage data collection, transformation, and integration processes across hybrid on‑premises and cloud RDBMS environments. Build optimized dashboards and automate workflows to enhance data reliability and operational efficiency. Expectations: Deliver robust data pipelines, maintain data quality and governance, implement high‑availability and disaster‑recovery solutions, and continuously improve database lifecycle and security practices. Key Responsibilities: - Design, build, and maintain data collection, transformation, and integration pipelines across multiple on‑premises and cloud RDBMS platforms. - Create, optimize, and manage analytical and monitoring dashboards using Power BI, Grafana, and SSRS. - Develop and run automation scripts (PowerShell, T-SQL, Python) for routine database administration, data extraction, and reporting. - Produce dynamic reports and standardized templates for database configuration, performance monitoring, and lifecycle tracking. - Install, configure, upgrade, and backup database systems both on‑premises and in the cloud. - Establish and enforce data governance, quality standards, and compliance within reporting and integration processes. - Stay current with database technology roadmaps and recommend continuous improvements. Required Skills: - Extensive data engineering experience with end‑to‑end pipeline design. - Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and other RDBMS, including cloud platforms. - Strong knowledge of high‑availability (HA) and disaster‑recovery (DR) architectures (clustering, virtualization). - Expertise in Power BI, SSRS, SSIS; familiarity with Grafana. - Automation skills using PowerShell, T-SQL, or Python. - Understanding of secure data handling (access control, encryption, audit logging). - Ability to ensure data quality, consistency, and governance. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred. - Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent; SQL Server Certification; data governance or security certifications (e.g., ISO/IEC 27001, CISSP) are a plus.
