**Job title**
Senior Cybersecurity Architect
**Role Summary**
Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of enterprise‑class security architecture to protect mission‑critical assets. Serve as the senior security subject matter expert, addressing current and emerging threats, ensuring alignment with business and technology strategies, and fostering a security‑centric culture across IT teams.
**Expectations**
- Deliver architecture solutions that balance business objectives with security requirements.
- Proactively identify and mitigate threats before they impact operations.
- Maintain and advance security postures in cloud and virtual environments.
- Earn and maintain a Secret level security clearance (or higher) and comply with Controlled Goods Program.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, build, and deploy security systems (SIEM, EDR, antivirus, email security, firewalls, proxies).
- Align security standards and frameworks (NIST, ISO, PCI‑DSS, etc.) with business strategy.
- Identify, assess, and communicate current and emerging security threats.
- Create security architecture components that mitigate identified threats.
- Spot design gaps in existing and proposed architectures, recommending enhancements.
- Develop measurable KPIs/ KRIs to monitor solution effectiveness.
- Serve as escalation point for high‑impact security events.
- Mentor and guide cross‑functional IT, cyber, and security teams.
**Required Skills**
- In‑depth knowledge of Zero‑Trust principles.
- Strong technical expertise in SIEM, antivirus, EDR, email security, firewalls, proxies, IAM, PAM, networking.
- Experience with virtual and cloud environments (public, private, hybrid).
- Proficiency in security assessment frameworks (NIST, ISO, PCI‑DSS, etc.).
- Penetration testing and ethical hacking skills.
- Exceptional communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Leadership, project management, and team‑building abilities.
- Ability to translate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR college diploma in cyber security studies.
- Minimum 8 years of direct cybersecurity experience (or 10 years total IT + cyber).
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent (CISA, CISM, GIAC).
- Penetration testing/ethical hacking certification (CEH, OSCP, GPEN, GIAC, etc.).
- Secret security clearance (or higher); successful candidates must be able to pass the Controlled Goods Program.
