**Job Title:**
Splunk Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, implement, and maintain Splunk environments for data ingestion, query optimization, and visualization. Automate data workflows, integrate with enterprise tools, and support both self‑hosted and GovCloud deployments while ensuring high‑quality, secure monitoring across IT infrastructure and AI workloads.
**Expectations:**
- 6‑month contract (W2)
- Hybrid work model in Atlanta, GA (local availability required)
- Deliver measurable improvements in data visibility, alerting, and reporting
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop complex SPL queries using transforms, eval, and sub‑searches for advanced data extraction.
- Configure and manage forwarders, data inputs, and indexing pipelines from cloud, on‑premise, and endpoint sources.
- Build and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations for technical and business stakeholders.
- Script automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for data collection, processing, and operational tasks.
- Integrate Splunk with Archer, ServiceNow, Azure, and AWS ecosystems.
- Manage data forwarding via syslog‑ng, Cribl, AWS Lambda, and Azure Function Apps.
- Monitor and troubleshoot performance, security, and compliance across both self‑hosted and GovCloud environments.
- Support AI/ML monitoring: apply predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and forecasting using Splunk AITK (AITK/MLTK).
**Required Skills:**
- Advanced SPL proficiency
- Python, Bash, PowerShell scripting
- Syslog‑ng, Cribl, AWS Lambda, Azure Functions experience
- Splunk GovCloud and self‑hosted environments
- Integration with Archer, ServiceNow, Azure, and AWS
- Networking, OS, and security fundamentals
- Optional: familiarity with Splunk AITK, Splunk MCP Server, and AI stack monitoring
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field with ≥7 years relevant experience, **or**
- Master’s in same/related field with ≥5 years relevant experience.
