Job Description: **Job Title:** Junior Data Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines and data stores on AWS that support enterprise analytics, reporting, and operations. Collaborate within an Agile team of software, AI/ML, cybersecurity, and DevOps engineers to deliver scalable, performant data solutions for internal and external stakeholders. **Expectations:** - Build reliable, high‑performance pipelines using Python or Scala. - Deliver on schedule with minimal supervision while continuously learning advanced data engineering concepts. - Communicate status, risks, and findings clearly to cross‑functional teams. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, code, and maintain data ingestion pipelines (SFTP, API, etc.) and transformations using Spark/EMR. - Create and update data models in SQL and NoSQL stores. - Monitor and optimize pipeline performance and data service stability. - Build and maintain infrastructure components (ECS, Lambda, Glue, Terraform) on AWS. - Develop monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions for data workloads. - Collaborate with data analysts and BI developers to support Power BI and Tableau dashboards. - Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives in an Agile environment. **Required Skills:** - Proficient programming in Python (and optionally Scala). - Experience with AWS services: S3, EMR (Spark), Lambda, Kinesis, Firehose, Glue, Terraform. - Strong SQL proficiency; experience with NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB, Athena). - Familiarity with data orchestration tools (Airflow, AWS Glue Jobs). - Understanding of data visualization principles and experience with Power BI or Tableau. - Excellent troubleshooting, time‑management, and independent work ability. - Effective written and verbal communication skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. - (Optional) Certifying courses in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty) or Python programming.
