Talend Data Engineer (24 Month FTC)
**Role Summary**
Deliver end‑to‑end data architecture solutions for operational, analytical, and regulatory workloads in a utility context. Design and implement data models, embed governance and quality controls, and collaborate with stakeholders to align technology with business strategy.
**Expectations**
- Lead the design and deployment of scalable data solutions within a 24‑month fixed‑term contract starting January.
- Demonstrate rapid impact by delivering high‑quality architecture, data models, and governance frameworks in a complex, multi‑domain environment.
- Work across cloud and on‑premise platforms, ensuring data reliability for mission‑critical operations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and implement robust data architectures for operational, analytical, and regulatory processing.
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models; apply 3NF, dimensional (star), and Data Vault patterns.
- Embed data governance and data quality frameworks across end‑to‑end pipelines.
- Utilize existing technology stack (Redshift, Talend, Oracle, QlikView) and leverage modern platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Synapse).
- Engage senior stakeholders, lead architectural decisions, and articulate technical solutions that support business strategy.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (asset management, customer operations, regulatory reporting) to ensure data needs are met.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or senior data professional.
- Strong expertise in data modelling (3NF, dimensional, Data Vault), governance, and quality frameworks.
- Hands‑on proficiency with Talend Data Integration, Redshift, Oracle, QlikView, Snowflake, Databricks, and Synapse.
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms and ability to operate strategically and technically.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to deliver effectively in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications (Talend Certified Associate/Expert, Snowflake SnowPro, Databricks Certified Data Engineer, etc.) preferred but not mandatory.
