Job Description

Job Title: PL/SQL Developer Role Summary: Senior Oracle database developer responsible for designing, coding, and optimizing PL/SQL objects and scripts. Lead performance tuning, data integration, and ETL solutions for finance and investment data. Collaborate with application teams to deliver reliable, high‑performance database components on a 12‑month contract. Expactations: * Deliver high‑quality PL/SQL code that meets functional and performance requirements. * Participate in design reviews, code audits, and documentation. * Mentor junior developers and maintain coding standards. Key Responsibilities: * Create and maintain tables, views, indexes, triggers, stored procedures, functions, and user‑defined types. * Implement bulk data loads via SQL*Loader, external tables, and Snowflake utilities (SnowSQL, SnowPipe). * Tune SQL queries using hints, explain plans, and optimize PL/SQL blocks with bulk binding and native dynamic SQL. * Develop and maintain ETL pipelines for data warehousing, including extraction, transformation, and loading processes. * Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to support investment management modules (cash flow, projections, analytics). * Write scripts in Python or Perl for data manipulation and automation tasks. * Document database designs, procedures, and performance tuning guidelines. * Resolve performance and data quality issues promptly. Required Skills: * 8+ years of database development experience with at least 6 years in Oracle PL/SQL. * Strong SQL/PLSQL knowledge: built‑in functions, analytical functions, cursors, cursor variables, packages, and bulk operations. * Expertise in Oracle performance tuning: hints, explain plan, indexing, and parallel execution. * Experience with Snowflake cloud data platform (SnowSQL, SnowPipe). * Proficiency in Python or Perl for data processing. * Solid understanding of ETL, data warehousing, and RDBMS concepts. * Knowledge of Oracle SQL*Loader and external file utilities. * Excellent problem‑solving, quantitative analysis, and communication skills. * Team collaboration and mentoring ability. Required Education & Certifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred). * Oracle PL/SQL Certified Associate/Professional (preferred). ---
