Job Description
**Job Title**: Communications Intern (8‑Month Contract) **Role Summary** Assists the Communications team with the creation, execution, and analysis of internal and external communication campaigns. Supports corporate news dissemination, event coordination, content development, and marketing asset management for a large transportation organization. **Expectations** - Work 8 months on contract, reporting to Communications Manager. - Demonstrate “can‑do” attitude, strong writing, editing, and attention to detail. - Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners. - Deliver high‑quality content and support digital and print campaign rollout. **Key Responsibilities** - Identify corporate news and produce posters, emails, intranet articles. - Create daily industry news email for internal stakeholders. - Monitor social media channels (FB, IG, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok). - Coordinate internal and external event logistics. - Write, edit, and publish intranet pages. - Draft copy for newsletters, bill inserts, webpages, social media. - Assist advertising creative development and media placement coordination. - Support sponsorship and donation program activities. - Build PowerPoint presentations. - Compile departmental reporting, including social media analytics. - Maintain marketing closet inventory and distribute promotional items. - Perform additional project‑based tasks and miscellaneous duties. **Required Skills** - Strong writing and editing (knowledge of Canadian Press style). - Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint; high proficiency in Microsoft Office. - Familiarity with major social media platforms and basic social media analytics. - Detail‑oriented, proactive, creative, and collaborative. - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. - Comfortable working in a Mac environment. - Asset: Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). **Required Education & Certifications** - Current university or college student completing a degree. - Enrolled in a post‑graduate certificate program in Public Relations or Corporate Communications that requires an internship for graduation. ---
