Job Description

**Job Title:** Security Consultant, Palo Alto **Role Summary:** Lead Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) ruleset optimization initiatives, enhancing client security posture, efficiency, and alignment with Zero Trust principles through technical collaboration and policy refinement. **Expectations:** - Collaborate with client teams to assess, refine, and optimize NGFW firewall policies. - Analyze permissive rules, identify risks, and establish Zero Trust-based optimization frameworks. - Document findings, implement rule changes via customer-defined processes, and ensure alignment with security best practices. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform NGFW rule exports and detailed policy assessments. - Conduct permissive rule analysis, flow analysis, and application/service owner identification. - Evaluate risks, categorize, and refine application, user, and web category controls. - Develop optimization baselines aligned with Zero Trust principles. - Document results, update internal records, and execute changes through formal change control processes (e.g., rule insertion, monitoring, decommissioning). **Required Skills:** - Expertise in Palo Alto NGFW architecture, policy tuning, and security optimization. - Strong understanding of Zero Trust frameworks and risk analysis methodologies. - Hands-on experience with rulebase review, traffic flow validation, and network application mapping. - Excellent technical documentation and cross-team collaboration abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s or advanced degree in IT, cybersecurity, or related field. - Industry certifications (e.g., Palo Alto Networks) a strong advantage.
