**Job Title:** Cloud Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, deploy, and manage a highly available hybrid cloud environment (primarily Azure, with AWS exposure) within an agile shared‑services team. Automate infrastructure provisioning, monitor performance, and provide third‑tier support while collaborating with developers, vendors, and operations to ensure stable, secure cloud services.
**Expectations:**
- Maintain and optimize Azure (and/or AWS) cloud resources, networking, and security.
- Automate build, deployment, and monitoring processes using IaC/Config‑as‑Code tools.
- Provide on‑call support and resolve complex infrastructure issues independently.
- Produce accurate documentation and capacity forecasts to prevent service degradation.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Establish, monitor, and maintain Azure cloud systems, hardware, OS, network, and security components.
- Track Azure maintenance/outages, assess impact, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with scrum teams to size compute resources and support new feature deployments.
- Build and automate cloud infrastructure using templates and automation toolsets (e.g., Azure DevOps, Terraform, PowerShell).
- Optimize network architecture for IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS workloads.
- Document installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance procedures.
- Diagnose connectivity, performance, and security issues; implement corrective actions.
- Contribute to hybrid‑cloud architectural roadmaps and integration plans.
- Coordinate with service providers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve infrastructure incidents.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and perform special duties outside regular hours.
**Required Skills:**
- 5+ years in computing/network infrastructure; 3+ years in cloud (Azure preferred).
- Strong experience with cloud infrastructure design, deployment, and operations.
- Proficiency in automation/IaC (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates, PowerShell, Azure DevOps).
- Hands‑on with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, Azure DevOps).
- Knowledge of virtual machines, virtual networks, load balancing, and cloud security monitoring.
- Familiarity with Windows Server 2019/2016/2012, Linux/Unix, Cisco routing/switching, Palo Alto firewalls.
- Ability to troubleshoot, tune performance, and produce clear technical documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; strong customer‑service orientation.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Preferred: Current Microsoft MCSE, Azure certifications (e.g., AZ‑104, AZ‑305).
- Desirable: AWS certifications, Cisco CCNA/CCNP.
