**Job Title**
Senior HR Investigator
**Role Summary**
Lead complex workplace investigations involving allegations of misconduct, including harassment, retaliation, and discrimination. Partner with legal, compliance, and HR stakeholders to ensure adherence to laws, policies, and ethical standards while maintaining confidentiality and procedural integrity.
**Expectations**
- Conduct timely, thorough investigations across multiple business segments.
- Provide clear, actionable findings and recommend policy improvements.
- Maintain independence, strong decision‑making, and risk assessment in sensitive situations.
- Communicate effectively with associates and leaders through written and oral reports.
- Travel 20‑30% to conduct on‑site investigations as needed.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and execute investigation plans, interview witnesses, and analyze evidence.
- Draft detailed investigative reports summarizing findings, trends, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with Legal, Ethics & Compliance, HR Business Partners, and line leaders on associate relations and performance issues.
- Monitor and assess risk trends to influence policy and procedural enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal employment laws (EEOC, Title VII, ADA, FMLA/CFRA, NLRA).
- Standardize investigative protocols, templates, and documentation practices.
- Provide high‑quality client service and maintain confidentiality across multiple investigations.
**Required Skills**
- 5+ years of experience in workplace investigations, conflict resolution, or compliance enforcement.
- Deep knowledge of multi‑state employment laws and regulations.
- Proficiency with case‑management systems (e.g., EthicsPoint, Navex, Service Now).
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to build trust, maintain confidentiality, and handle highly sensitive situations.
- Self‑motivated with excellent prioritization, project management, and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Law, Psychology, Public Policy, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- HR professional certification (SPHR/PHR, SHRM‑CP/SHRM‑SCP, or comparable credential).
- Formal investigations training or certification preferred.
- Association of Workplace Investigators Certificate Holder (AWI‑CH) an asset.
