Job Description
Job Title: Project Manager – Quantum Computing Projects Role Summary: Lead the planning, execution and delivery of quantum computing, software development, high‑performance computing and facility projects within the National Quantum Computing Centre, ensuring milestones are met on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards. Expectations: - Manage daily project activities and cross‑functional teams, coordinating deliverables across scientific, engineering and external partner stakeholders. - Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, risk registers, communication plans and lessons‑learned reports. - Monitor and control budgets, time‑lines and risks, generating accurate, timely reports for senior leadership. - Embed monitoring, evaluation and benefit realisation into projects, contributing to continuous improvement of project management processes. - Protect confidentiality of project data and comply with security clearance requirements. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, maintain and execute project plans aligned with the NQCC Project Management Process. - Coordinate resources, schedule work and ensure deliverables meet quality, scope and stakeholder expectations. - Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and issues, updating risk registers and action plans. - Manage project budgets, track spend, forecast variances and report financial status. - Provide regular status updates, reports and presentations to sponsors, technical leads and senior management. - Facilitate stakeholder engagement, maintaining positive relationships with internal teams and external partners. - Support project evaluation, benefits analysis and post‑implementation reviews. Required Skills: - Proven project management experience, preferably in R&D, technology or construction projects. - Strong knowledge of project lifecycle, risk management, budgeting and reporting. - Excellent communication, stakeholder‑management and leadership skills. - Ability to understand complex technical concepts; basic knowledge of quantum computing technologies preferred. - Familiarity with PM frameworks (e.g., PRINCE2, PMI, Agile) and documentation tools. Required Education & Certifications: - STEM degree (or equivalent science/engineering experience). - Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent) is highly desirable. - Current UK residency for the last five years and eligibility for enhanced security clearance.

Job Description
**Job Title** Embedded Expert – National Technology Adviser & Chief Scientific Adviser **Role Summary** Provide rapid, high‑quality technical and scientific advice to the National Technology Adviser (NTA) and Chief Scientific Adviser (CSA) of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. Work flexibly (2‑3 days/week, 9‑18 month term) on bespoke research projects, policy development, and stakeholder engagement across government and industry. **Expectations** - Minimum 2‑3 days per week commitment, full‑time options available. - Term length 9‑18 months, extendable by agreement. - Work across multiple policy areas and projects, responding to shifting priorities. **Key Responsibilities** - Deliver subject‑matter expertise and evidence‑based technical advice to DSIT and wider government policy teams. - Design, conduct, and report on bespoke research projects for the NTA and CSA. - Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships, including ministers, senior officials, industry partners, and academia. - Translate complex technical information into clear, actionable recommendations for policy and strategic decision‑making. - Support the NTA and CSA in briefing ministers and senior officials on emerging technologies and risks. - Contribute to the development and refinement of national technology and science agendas. **Required Skills** - Deep technical expertise in at least one of the following: Advanced Connectivity & Telecoms, AI & Robotics, Data & Cybersecurity, Engineering Biology, Online Security & Harms, Quantum, Semiconductors, Technology Innovation & Regulation, or Research & Innovation Systems. - Proven experience in a technical role within academia or industry. - Strong written and verbal communication, able to convey complex concepts to non‑technical audiences. - Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities under pressure and adapt to changing demands. - Experience building and sustaining stakeholder relationships. - Familiarity with policy development processes and government advisory structures (desired). **Required Education & Certifications** - Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, physics, biology, or a related discipline; advanced degrees (MSc, PhD) strongly preferred. - Professional certifications relevant to the specific technical domain are an asset. ---
