Job Description
Job Title: Software Engineer (LabVIEW) – Test Automation Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain LabVIEW-based automated test systems for electronic modules in mass spectrometry equipment. Focus on hardware‑software integration, test fixture control, and performance optimization to support product development, qualification, and manufacturing. Expectations: Deliver robust, performance‑optimized LabVIEW solutions; collaborate with cross‑functional teams; conduct code reviews and ensure high software quality; troubleshoot and debug hardware‑software interfaces; adhere to version control and documentation standards. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and refine LabVIEW software for instrument control and test automation. - Create and maintain user interfaces for automated test programs. - Interface computers with instruments (multimeters, oscilloscopes, PXI, etc.) and implement communication protocols (SPI, I²C, Ethernet, UART). - Ensure seamless integration among device‑under‑test, test interface unit, and central test harness. - Debug, troubleshoot, and validate hardware‑software connections. - Lead and participate in peer reviews to uphold coding standards and quality. - Install and configure development tools; manage code via Git or Subversion. Required Skills: - LabVIEW development (5+ years experience). - Proficient in instrumentation, automation, and test system design. - Solid understanding of National Instruments hardware and LabVIEW instrument drivers. - Knowledge of communication interfaces (SPI, I²C, Ethernet, UART). - Experience with design patterns, debugging, and deployment of LabVIEW software. - Competence in version control (Git, Subversion). - Basic schematic entry and electronics knowledge. - Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent. - LabVIEW Certification Level I (Level II preferred).
