**Job Title:** Senior Network Administrator
**Role Summary:** Design, operate, secure, and modernize the enterprise and cloud networking infrastructure that supports mission‑critical systems. Deliver high‑performance, scalable connectivity, automate provisioning, and enforce rigorous security and compliance standards while mentoring junior staff.
**Expectations:**
- Lead network architecture and capacity planning.
- Drive automation and IaC initiatives to eliminate manual configuration.
- Maintain service availability above 99.9% for critical operations.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, operations, and vendors to integrate new technologies.
- Mentor and develop less experienced network team members.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, SD‑WAN, and transport networks.
- Configure and manage core services: DHCP, VLANs, BGP/OSPF, IPv4/IPv6, spanning‑tree, and dynamic routing protocols.
- Deploy and manage hardware (Arista, Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper) and virtualized network appliances.
- Operate monitoring stack (SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog, etc.) to detect faults, performance bottlenecks, and security incidents.
- Perform root‑cause analysis, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
- Implement network security policies: segmentation, access controls, WireGuard/Tailscale, IPsec, SSL VPN, and regular vulnerability assessments.
- Apply ITIL practices for Change, Incident, and Problem Management.
- Automate network provisioning and configuration with Ansible, Python, or Bash; integrate IaC with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Maintain up‑to‑date network diagrams, topology maps, runbooks, and documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and facilities for deployments, upgrades, and outages.
**Required Skills:**
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience with enterprise‑grade networks.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, spanning‑tree, and IPsec.
- Experience managing Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, Juniper, or equivalent routers/switches and firewalls.
- Proficiency with network monitoring tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, NetDisco, NetBox, Eve‑NG).
- Automation expertise: Ansible, Python, Bash, IaC, GitLab CI/CD, and integration with SD‑N.
- Familiarity with SD‑WAN and SDN technologies (e.g., Arista CloudVision).
- Strong troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and documentation skills.
- Understanding of ITIL, change management, and compliance frameworks.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant networking certifications: CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, Fortinet NSE, Arista certifications, or equivalent.
- Preferred: Certifications in security (CISSP, CEH) and cloud networking.
