**Job Title:** DataStage Developer
**Role Summary:**
Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using IBM DataStage or comparable ETL platforms (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Apache NiFi). Drive data integration across relational databases, ensuring high‑quality, timely data delivery to data warehouses.
**Expectations:**
- Minimum 5 years in data engineering or ETL development.
- Proven expertise in IBM DataStage (preferred); equivalent experience with other tools acceptable.
- Strong SQL proficiency across databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL.
- Solid grasp of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and integration best practices.
- Competence in scripting (Python, Shell) for automation.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and version control.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Build and optimize ETL jobs and pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
- Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to define requirements, data models, and quality standards.
- Conduct performance tuning, debugging, and troubleshooting of ETL workflows.
- Implement data validation, cleansing, and lineage tracking.
- Automate repetitive tasks via Python or Shell scripts.
- Integrate ETL solutions into CI/CD pipelines and manage source control.
- Document designs, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support for production ETL systems.
**Required Skills:**
- IBM DataStage (or equivalent ETL tools: Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Apache NiFi).
- Advanced SQL development and relational database management.
- Data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas.
- Scripting: Python, Shell (Bash).
- Version control (Git) and CI/CD experience.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Optional certifications: IBM DataStage Certified Professional, Informatica PowerCenter, or equivalent ETL credentials.
