Job Description
Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer (C/F) Role Summary: Design, develop, validate, and document embedded software across the entire lifecycle for constrained systems in railway and automotive environments. Deliver optimized, reliable code for microcontrollers while ensuring compliance with industry standards and system requirements. Expectations: - Produce high‑quality, performance‑optimized embedded software in C/C++ for real‑time operating systems. - Work autonomously yet collaboratively with project managers, hardware designers, and cross‑functional teams. - Maintain rigorous documentation, validation plans, and test support throughout development. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement bootloaders, applications, and configuration interfaces for embedded subsystems. - Develop and integrate software modules for microcontrollers, ensuring performance and hardware compatibility. - Prototype robust, fault‑tolerant embedded solutions. - Author system and software specifications, technical guides, and usage documentation. - Define and write validation plans that meet regulatory and industry constraints. - Support test execution, analyze results, and confirm software conformance and reliability. Required Skills: - Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded real‑time systems. - Experience with Visual Studio, IAR, and LDRA development and validation tools. - Strong knowledge of embedded communication protocols: CAN, J1939, UDS, CANopen, SPI, I2C, I²S. - Deep understanding of ARM Cortex‑M0/M4/M7 architectures. - Ability to read and analyze hardware schematics (Altium) and troubleshoot on‑board hardware with oscilloscopes and probes. - Professional proficiency in English. - Demonstrated rigor, autonomy, teamwork, curiosity, and a passion for emerging technologies. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent. - Minimum 5 years of experience in embedded software development and validation. - No mandatory certifications specified, but knowledge of industry standards and real‑time OS fundamentals is essential.
