Job Description
**Job Title:** Medical Assistant Intern **Role Summary:** A one‑year full‑time internship supporting the Sports Medicine and Science Department of a professional football club. The role involves assisting in day‑to‑day clinical operations, collaborating with multidisciplinary staff, and contributing to research projects while gaining exposure to elite sports medicine practices. **Expectations:** - Full‑time commitment for 12 months, starting August 2026. - Medical students only; candidates must have completed at least Year 3 (Year 4 preferred) of a recognized medical degree. - Maintain academic performance while engaging in clinical support duties. - Comply with enhanced criminal record checks, including Child and Adult Barred Lists. - Submit required documentation: university letter authorising a one‑year study interruption and evidence of admission and eligibility. **Key Responsibilities:** - Assist in routine patient assessments and vital sign collection. - Maintain and organise clinical records and documentation. - Coordinate scheduling and logistics for medical appointments and MDT meetings. - Support clinical team during assessments of athletes across all age groups. - Assist in the collection, entry, and analysis of research data. - Ensure compliance with infection control and departmental protocols. - Facilitate communication between medical staff, specialists, and support teams. - Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and process audits. **Required Skills:** - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). - Strong time‑management and organisational abilities. - Excellent prioritisation and multitasking under pressure. - Effective written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Current enrolment in Year 3 or Year 4 of a recognized medical degree. - Valid A‑Levels or equivalent secondary education. - Admission onto a medical school programme. - Letter of support from the Dean of the medical school authorising a one‑year study interruption. ---
