Job Description
Job Title: Senior Embedded Software Engineer Role Summary: Lead the design, development, and deployment of real‑time firmware for grid‑connected inverters on ARM Cortex‑M platforms. Own end‑to‑end firmware lifecycle from architecture to field‑support, ensuring deterministic, safe, and high‑performance code. Expectations: • 5+ years of industrial experience in real‑time embedded systems. • Proven track record of shipping firmware from prototype to production. • Strong analytical mindset for debugging hardware‑firmware interactions. Key Responsibilities: • Design and implement C/C++ firmware for ARM Cortex‑M microcontrollers, managing memory, peripherals, interrupts, and low‑level debugging. • Develop bare‑metal and RTOS applications; optimize latency, interrupt priority, and timing for hard real‑time constraints. • Bring up new hardware platforms, configure peripherals, integrate sensors/actuators, and validate functionality. • Troubleshoot firmware‑hardware faults in test rigs and field deployments; analyze logs and deliver robust fixes. • Collaborate with hardware, power electronics, control, and systems teams to define interfaces, timing budgets, and validation strategies. • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and maintain high code quality standards. • Contribute to safety and quality processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, traceability, and thorough documentation. • Maintain technical documentation: requirements, design specs, test reports, and architecture notes. Required Skills: • C/C++ programming; deep understanding of C language semantics and optimization. • Embedded software architecture, real‑time deterministic design, and RTOS fundamentals. • Experience with ARM Cortex‑M microcontrollers, interrupt handling, inter‑processor communication, and synchronization. • Firmware‑hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG debuggers. • Proficiency in scripting (Python, TCL, Bash) for test automation and data analysis. • Knowledge of UART, SPI, I²C, Ethernet, and USB communication protocols. • Ability to read schematics and datasheets; experience testing/debugging PCBs. • Familiarity with CI/CD, unit testing, and static analysis tools for embedded code.
