**Job Title:** Data Scientist – Machine Learning Engineer (F/M)
**Role Summary:**
Develop and operationalize machine‑learning models for digital biomarkers that enhance clinical monitoring of diseases such as multiple sclerosis and cystic fibrosis. Collaborate across clinical, product, UX, legal, and engineering teams to select biomarkers, design data collection pipelines, validate scientific methods, and deliver production‑ready libraries while ensuring regulatory compliance.
**Expectations:**
- Identify and validate digital biomarkers through literature review, stakeholder workshops, and design studies.
- Translate medical problem statements into machine‑learning challenges.
- Design, prototype, test, and document data‑analysis libraries for R&D and production environments.
- Deploy models with data‑engineering partners, optimize algorithm code, and maintain code quality.
- Ensure all solutions meet applicable AI, data‑privacy, and medical‑device regulations.
- Maintain continuous technical and scientific knowledge, present results internally and to partners, and engage in scientific conferences.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct biomarker discovery and signal‑source evaluation (video, audio, inertial, imaging, etc.).
- Draft data‑science specifications and coordinate with product and development teams on data capture.
- Validate scientific methodologies with UX, product, and clinical stakeholders.
- Collaborate on interim data collection with legal/regulatory teams.
- Build predictive models, perform analytical and clinical performance assessment with biostatisticians.
- Deploy models to production platforms in partnership with data engineers.
- Uphold data‑quality standards and regulatory compliance.
- Continuously improve study methodologies using sensor data.
- Lead technology and scientific awareness to sustain competitive solutions.
- Facilitate effective communication between technical and medical teams.
- Report progress and outcomes clearly to internal teams and external partners.
**Required Skills:**
- 2+ years as a data scientist with solid experience in Python (modeling, data analysis).
- Proficiency in translating health‑care challenges into ML problems.
- Experience in one or more of: biomechanical modeling, signal processing, computer vision, deep learning.
- Strong teamwork, rigor, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Operational English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Interest in medical domain and regulatory environment.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Master’s or PhD (Bac + 5 to Bac + 8) in applied sciences, mathematics, computer science, physics, or equivalent.
- Relevant certifications in ML, data science, or medical AI regulatory compliance are a plus.
