Job Description

**Job Title:** Senior DevOps Engineer – HPC Systems **Role Summary:** Lead the design, automation, and maintenance of high‑availability HPC infrastructure in a Linux environment. Engineer end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and container orchestration to support scalable big‑data and analytics workloads. **Expectations:** - Active TS/SCI with polygraph clearance required. - Minimum 7 years software engineering experience (additional 2 years may substitute for degree). - Telework: 16 hours per week as task‑based. - Full‑time, full‑benefit compliance with security protocols. **Key Responsibilities:** - Integrate and provision COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, libraries, and packages on Linux servers. - Build and maintain automated infrastructure using IaC (Ansible) and configuration management. - Develop and refactor framework solutions in Java and Python for HPC workloads. - Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI and source‑code branching strategies. - Containerize services with Docker and deploy orchestrated workloads on Kubernetes. - Implement real‑time monitoring and alerting with Prometheus/Grafana. - Collaborate with stakeholders to streamline release cycles and improve system performance. **Required Skills:** - Advanced Linux CLI fluency. - Shell/Bash and Python scripting. - Linux administration (service, configuration, storage, networking). - Experience installing/configuring COTS/GOTS/FOSS in Linux. - Proficient in Java and Python development. - Big‑data stream/batch processing experience. - CI/CD principles and tools (GitLab CI). - IaC with Ansible. - Docker containerization. - Kubernetes orchestration. - Prometheus/Grafana monitoring. - Git source‑code management and branching. - (Optional) Atlassian suite (JIRA, Confluence). **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent professional experience (9 years combined software engineering). - Current TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
