Job Title: Cloud Engineer III
Role Summary: Architect, implement, and maintain enterprise virtualization and core infrastructure services, primarily across Microsoft Hyper‑V/SCVMM and VMware vSphere, while ensuring high availability, performance, and automation of cloud environments.
Expectations: Deliver reliable 24/7 infrastructure, participate in on‑call rotations, mentor teammates, and continuously improve processes through scripting and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and support Hyper‑V and vSphere virtualization platforms.
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related domain services.
- Manage and optimize SAN and software‑defined storage systems (e.g., NetApp, HPE).
- Troubleshoot production cloud environments, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Collaborate with networking, systems, and backup teams on seamless cloud solutions.
- Conduct capacity planning, patching, and upgrades for hypervisors and storage.
- Lead client migrations, onboarding, and infrastructure expansion projects.
- Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and configuration standards.
- Automate tasks using PowerShell, CLI, or other IaC tools.
- Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to critical incidents.
Required Skills
- 10+ years IT experience with 3+ years in systems engineering, design, and troubleshooting.
- Deep proficiency in Microsoft Hyper‑V/SCVMM and VMware vSphere/ESXi.
- Strong understanding of Active Directory architecture, domain trusts, and authentication services.
- Experience managing enterprise storage (NetApp, HPE, etc.).
- Familiarity with Windows Server clustering, performance tuning, and backup/replication (Veeam, Zerto).
- Scripting/automation experience with PowerShell, CLI, or IaC.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and independent ownership skills.
- Ability to mentor team members on troubleshooting and process improvement.
Required Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server / Azure Administrator and VMware VCP highly preferred.
