Job title: Grower Support Representative I
Role Summary:
Front‑line technical sales and customer support for commercial blueberry growers within an assigned region. The role delivers product support, variety selection guidance, and order fulfillment while driving new account development and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Expactations:
- Achieve quarterly sales targets and contribution margins for assigned accounts.
- Maintain accurate, timely entries in the company CRM for all customer interactions, opportunities, and field observations.
- Provide expert horticultural advice to clients, ensuring correct plant selection and post‑plant care.
- Represent the company at industry events, seminars, and client visits, consistently embodying corporate values.
- Comply with all legal and ethical standards, including confidentiality and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary contact for customers covering plant ordering, availability, terms, and order confirmation.
- Deliver on‑site evaluations, pre‑plant preparation, variety recommendation, and post‑plant cultural guidance.
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities in the assigned territory.
- Facilitate plant sales processes, confirming deposits, order accuracy, and fulfillment timelines.
- Capture and report field data on variety performance to R&D and Commercial teams.
- Build and manage CRM opportunities to support sales forecasting and demand planning.
- Organize and conduct educational seminars, customer visits to nurseries/farms, and occasional trade show presentations.
- Provide feedback to management on industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
- Perform special projects or tasks as directed by management.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of agronomy: soil & water chemistry, plant nutrition, irrigation/fertigation, and crop management.
- Customer‑focused sales and technical support experience (0–3 years, preferably in agriculture).
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English (intermediate level, capable of daily business interactions).
- Ability to travel frequently within assigned territory, including overnight and occasional international trips.
- Independent problem‑solving ability and professional judgment.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with growers, licensees, and internal teams.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Crop Science, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Intermediate level English proficiency (written and oral).
- 0–3 years of related technical, sales, or customer service experience in an agricultural business.
- No specific certifications required, but knowledge of agricultural regulations and FCPA compliance is essential.
