**Job Title**
AI/ML Engineering Manager
**Role Summary**
Lead a small engineering team to design, develop, and deploy production‑grade AI solutions for clinical research and decision support. Focus on secure, scalable data pipelines, MLOps infrastructure, and AI‑powered applications using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, and Azure AI services.
**Expectations**
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of software/platform engineers.
- Own end‑to‑end delivery of strategic AI projects (EHR de‑identification, LLM tools, cohort analytics).
- Drive engineering best practices and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with enterprise IT, data, and clinical stakeholders to translate requirements into technical plans.
- Champion responsible AI, risk assessment, and governance.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead and coach a team of engineers focused on AI solution development, MLOps, and data platform administration.
- Own project execution for EHR de‑identification, AI application delivery, and cloud‑based data platform enhancements.
- Define and evolve source control, CI/CD, IaC, observability, testing, and release processes.
- Partner with Enterprise IT Architects on AI/ML system architecture, APIs, and performance/security trade‑offs.
- Contribute to AI risk assessments, governance reviews, and responsible AI practices.
- Liaise with IT, research, clinical, and vendor partners to build technical roadmaps.
- Foster team cohesion, knowledge sharing, and a culture of collaboration.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience in engineering team leadership or management.
- Strong Azure application development background.
- Proficiency in Python; Java optional for product ownership.
- Hands‑on expertise in LLMOps and MLOps platforms (MLflow, PromptFlow, etc.).
- Knowledge of Generative AI and NLP tools (Azure OpenAI, Snowflake, etc.).
- Healthcare domain experience (clinical data, research).
**Preferred Skills**
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, OneLake.
- Familiarity with healthcare data technologies (Epic, FHIR, OMOP).
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Azure certifications (e.g., AZ‑900, DP‑200/DP‑203, AI‑900) are highly valued.
