**Job Title:** Sr. DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary:** Senior engineer responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable cloud backend architecture for Kohler Ventures. Partners directly with Head of Software, engineering, and product teams to drive DevOps best practices, automation, and continuous improvement across multi‑regional environments.
**Expectations:**
- Minimum 5 + years of hands‑on AWS experience, including infrastructure‑as‑code with CDK.
- Proven ability to lead DevOps initiatives, enforce collaboration, and automate monitoring.
- Flexible schedule to support cross‑time‑zone teams; willingness to work outside standard hours.
- Travel up to 10 % domestically and internationally as needed.
- Strong communication skills for conveying technical and managerial information.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and implement scalable, secure cloud architectures on AWS to support business growth.
- Define and execute a forward‑looking DevOps vision, aligning hardware and software team requirements.
- Improve code normalization and quality across critical codebases.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and Kubernetes.
- Manage AWS services (networking, security, compute, storage, monitoring) and ensure high availability, performance, and robustness.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration via CDK and IaC scripting.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues; implement alerting and observability solutions.
- Contribute to cloud security architecture and compliance practices.
**Required Skills:**
- AWS services (VPC, IAM, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, etc.) and CDK.
- Infrastructure‑as‑code scripting and automation.
- Container orchestration with Kubernetes; GitOps using ArgoCD.
- CI/CD pipeline development with GitHub Actions.
- Monitoring, logging, and incident response (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus).
- Experience with high‑availability, scalable systems.
- Ability to work across multiple time zones and adapt to on‑call demands.
**Preferred Skills:**
- Data streaming platforms (Kafka or Solace).
- API definition technologies (Protocol Buffers, GraphQL, OpenAPI).
- Advanced cloud security architecture.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) are a plus but not mandatory.
