Job Description: **Job Title:** Software Developer Intern (Co-op) **Role Summary** Support development of web-based software and AI-powered tools for VRIFY’s mining and geological data platform. Gain hands-on experience in software engineering practices while contributing to real-world applications under mentorship. **Expectations** Targeted at students seeking co-op experience. Emphasis on learning, collaboration, and skill-building. Not intended for senior or experienced professionals. **Key Responsibilities** - Assist in building and enhancing web-based software features. - Support implementation of AI-driven functionality under guidance. - Translate product/design requirements into functional software components. - Write clean, documented code adhering to best practices. - Participate in code reviews as a learning activity. - Debug issues, test fixes, and improve software reliability. - Apply version control (Git) and software development best practices. - Contribute to product experimentation and iteration with AI capabilities. **Required Skills** - **Co-op Eligibility**: Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution; eligible/registered for an official co-op program; able to complete the internship through required channels. - **Technical Skills**: Foundational knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS; introductory experience with React or Vue; familiarity with Git/version control; basic understanding of API communication; exposure to LLM-powered tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code); awareness of web application hosting. **Required Education & Certifications** - Enrolled in or pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - Academic or self-initiated project experience in software/web development.
