Job title: AI/NLP/ML Expert
Role Summary: Lead design, deployment, and operation of scalable hybrid‑cloud ML Ops infrastructure for EU institutional projects, develop NLP/ML software, and collaborate with data science and backend teams to deliver production‑ready models.
Expectations: Deliver secure, high‑availability AI solutions, maintain CI/CD pipelines, optimize ML performance, and provide MLOps guidance to team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and maintain hybrid on‑prem/cloud MLOps pipelines (CI/CD, orchestration, versioning).
- Develop and deploy NLP/ML/DL applications; integrate models with backend services.
- Monitor model performance, troubleshoot, and implement anomaly detection.
- Design IT architecture for NLP/ML/AI solutions, including master‑metadata management.
- Conduct security assessments for AI projects and advise on data protection.
- Mentor teammates on best MLOps practices.
- Produce clear technical documentation and present findings to business stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- Deep experience with MLOps in on‑prem and cloud (AWS, Azure).
- Expertise in containerization & orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, PKS).
- Proficiency in MLflow, TensorFlow (TFX) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Airflow, Terraform/CloudFormation, and messaging systems (Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ).
- Python, Unix/Bash scripting, agile development, and CI/CD.
- Data security fundamentals (encryption, ML security).
- NoSQL databases (Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase) and query languages (SQL, Hive, Pig).
- Big data analytics, data lakes, monitoring/logging (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch).
- Model testing/validation in production, documentation, and communication skills.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant certifications in cloud (AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty, Azure AI Engineer) or MLOps (e.g., Certified MLOps Professional) preferred.
