Job Title: Cloud Data Platform Engineer Lead
Role Summary: Lead the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of cloud‑based data platforms. Build and maintain scalable infrastructure, develop software components, troubleshoot complex issues, and oversee database architecture. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end cloud solutions.
Expectations: Deliver high‑performance, secure, and scalable data platforms on time. Maintain architecture best practices, ensure compliance, and drive innovation in data engineering processes. Lead project management activities and mentor team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and architect cloud data platforms (data lakes, warehouses, pipelines).
- Build, provision, and manage cloud infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Develop and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and analytics components.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve infrastructure, data, and application issues.
- Oversee database design, tuning, and large‑scale dataset management.
- Collaborate with data, engineering, and product teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
- Document architecture, processes, and best practices.
- Ensure security, compliance, and performance standards are met.
- Lead project planning, execution, and stakeholder communication.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Expertise in infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Strong programming skills (Python, Java, SQL).
- Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, and big‑data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive, etc.).
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Leadership and project management experience in cloud solution design.
- Familiarity with security and compliance standards (SOC, GDPR, etc.).
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Preferred certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Data Engineer, or equivalent.
