Job title: Java Software Engineer
Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable consumer‑facing healthcare applications as part of a remote, agile team. Utilize Java/Spring Boot for backend services and React (with occasional Python) for frontend components, integrating APIs and deploying to cloud platforms.
Expectations: Minimum 2 years of professional Java development, full‑stack competency, experience with RESTful API design, cloud deployment (Kubernetes, PCF, GCP, Azure, or AWS), agile methodology, and remote collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and evolve full‑stack features in Java, Spring Boot, React, and Python.
- Design, implement, and document REST APIs; integrate with existing services.
- Deploy, monitor, and scale applications across chosen cloud environments.
- Troubleshoot, refactor, and optimize front‑end and back‑end code for performance and security.
- Participate in sprint planning, stand‑ups, and retrospectives; provide accurate estimates and timely updates.
- Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to deliver high‑value features on schedule.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automate testing and deployment processes.
Required Skills:
- Java (8/11/17+), Spring Boot, RESTful services, Java EE fundamentals.
- Front‑end: React.js (JSX, hooks), basic Python for scripting.
- API design, versioning, documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger).
- Cloud deployment: Kubernetes, PCF, GCP, Azure, AWS.
- Relational database: Postgres or equivalent; SQL.
- Version control (Git), Agile tools (Jira, Rally, Pivotal Tracker).
- CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Concourse, Bamboo (or similar).
- Strong written and verbal communication; self‑starter in remote settings.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Optional: Java certifications (Oracle Certified Associate/Professional), cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP).
