**Job Title:**
IT Specialist – Enterprise Data Governance
**Role Summary:**
Senior-level IT Specialist responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the organization’s data governance framework. Ensures data integrity, quality, security, and compliance across all enterprise data assets.
**Expectations:**
- Lead data governance initiatives and set strategy.
- Establish governance standards, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed data stewardship.
- Drive continuous improvement of data quality and compliance.
- Maintain oversight of data governance tools and platforms.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Design and maintain a comprehensive data governance framework, including data quality, security, privacy, and lifecycle policies.
2. Define and monitor data quality metrics and key performance indicators across data domains.
3. Work with business units to promote data stewardship and enforce governance standards.
4. Coordinate data risk assessments, audits, and compliance reviews (GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001, internal policies).
5. Oversee configuration and usage of data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Informatica).
6. Provide training and support to data owners and stewards.
7. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, integrating emerging best practices and regulatory changes.
8. Report governance status, risks, and improvements to senior stakeholders.
**Required Skills:**
- Proven experience in data governance, data quality, metadata, and data stewardship.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, ISO/IEC 27001).
- Experience with data governance platforms (Collibra, Alation, Informatica, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and process‑design skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Project management skills and ability to drive initiatives across multiple teams.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or related field.
- Industry certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Data Governance Professional, or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) preferred).
