Job Description
**Job Title:** Java Developer **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, internal tools, and client‑facing applications supporting mission‑critical financial operations. Ensure high performance, reliability, and security while collaborating with cross‑functional teams. **Expectations:** - Deliver clean, efficient, production‑ready Java code. - Conduct thorough unit and integration testing; troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly. - Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback. - Keep technical documentation up to date. - Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices. - Support end users and provide training as needed. **Key Responsibilities:** - Architect and implement backend services and algorithms using Java/JEE (or C++) and related technologies. - Develop RESTful APIs and microservices within a message‑oriented architecture. - Optimize and refactor existing applications for performance and security. - Work with relational databases (primarily Oracle) for data access and management. - Deploy and manage applications on JBoss or comparable application servers. - Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and other developers throughout the software lifecycle. - Document designs, workflows, and operational procedures. **Required Skills:** - Strong object‑oriented programming fundamentals and n‑tier architecture knowledge. - Proficiency in Java/JEE (or C++) and associated frameworks. - Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices. - Hands‑on experience with message‑oriented middleware (e.g., JMS). - Familiarity with JBoss or similar application servers. - Solid SQL skills; Oracle database experience preferred. - Ability to write unit and integration tests; debugging and performance tuning. - Effective communication and teamwork skills. - Interest or background in financial instruments and services (preferred). **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum 5 years of professional experience developing Java or comparable object‑oriented applications. - Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE/EE, or AWS) are a plus but not mandatory.
