Job Description
**Job Title** Data Scientist Intern **Role Summary** Assist the full‑time Data Science team in analyzing, developing, and testing code for current and upcoming products. Responsibilities include data cleaning, model training and evaluation, visualization, and supporting upstream data curation to make analysis possible. Interns are expected to gain the knowledge and experience required for a future full‑time Data Scientist position. **Expectations** - Work independently while collaborating with team members. - Demonstrate results‑oriented mindset and adaptability to change. - Maintain professional appearance and demeanor. - Commit to regular office hours and commute when scheduled. - Provide clear oral and written communication of findings. **Key Responsibilities** - Collect, clean, and curate datasets for analysis. - Design, train, and evaluate machine‑learning models (tree‑based, neural networks). - Perform statistical analyses and generate visual insights. - Deploy models and establish automated pipelines; use APIs and stored procedures as required. - Document processes, model assumptions, and outcomes for reproducibility. - Communicate key trends and recommendations to stakeholders. - Support integration of analytical outputs into product workflows. - Contribute to continuous improvement of data architecture and tooling. **Required Skills** - Proficient in Python or R with associated libraries (pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/Keras, etc.). - Solid understanding of machine‑learning fundamentals (algorithms, evaluation metrics). - Statistical analysis capability (descriptive, inferential). - SQL proficiency; experience writing queries, stored procedures, or interacting with APIs. - Strong verbal and written communication for presenting results. - Preferred: experience in computer vision, NLP or large‑language‑model use. - Preferred: familiarity with Spark, Kubernetes, Docker, or Jenkins for data pipelines. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrollment or completion of a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline. - Relevant coursework or project experience in data analysis and machine‑learning. ---
