Job Description: **Job Title:** Senior Video Research Engineer **Role Summary** Lead independent research on advanced video processing, compression, and delivery. Convert exploratory concepts into proof‑of‑concepts (PoCs), publish findings, and contribute to intellectual property and technical leadership within the organization. **Expectations** - Own end‑to‑end research projects with minimal supervision. - Translate PoCs into production‑ready solutions in collaboration with engineering and product teams. - Act as a subject‑matter expert and knowledge ambassador internally and externally. - Mentor junior researchers, interns, and PhD students. - Drive collaboration with academia and industry partners. **Key Responsibilities** - Conduct exploratory research and develop PoCs in video signal processing, compression, machine learning, and media delivery protocols. - Build evaluation tools, benchmark suites, and experimental pipelines. - Collaborate with engineers and product managers to steer technology transfer and integration. - Identify emerging challenges and application domains aligned with business strategy. - Produce technical reports, white papers, and IP documentation; file patents where applicable. - Present research outcomes to technical and executive audiences; publish papers and speak at conferences. - Mentor junior talent and support learning pathways for research teams. **Required Skills** - ≥8 years of research or equivalent experience in video technology. - Deep expertise in: - Video signal processing and compression (filters, codecs, quality metrics) **or** - Machine learning/deep learning applied to video/image problems **or** - Media systems and delivery protocols (IP, HTTP streaming). - Proficient programming in C/C++ and Python; experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow. - Familiar with software engineering practices, version control (Git). - Proven record of technical publications, standard‑body participation, and patent generation. - Strong communication skills: complex ideas articulated in write‑up, oral, and demo formats. **Required Education & Certifications** - Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Image/Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Multimedia Networks, or a closely related field. - Demonstrated experience designing, structuring, and leading research initiatives. ---
