**Job title:** Social Media Lead **Role Summary:** Lead the strategic direction and day‑to‑day execution of social media across Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), YouTube, and Snapchat for a major media brand. Drive audience growth, engagement, traffic, and monetisation metrics while overseeing a small high‑performing team. **Expactations:** Expected to deliver measurable growth in audience size, engagement, and revenue across all social platforms; achieve monthly monetisation targets for Snapchat, Facebook, and YouTube; respond swiftly to breaking news; provide actionable insights from analytics to inform strategy. **Key Responsibilities:** - Manage scheduling, posting and optimisation of content across all social channels, ensuring platform‑specific tone and editorial alignment. - Lead, coach, and inspire a small social team, setting daily priorities and creative direction. - Develop and execute platform‑specific content strategies to increase reach, followers, and community interaction. - Monitor real‑time trends and coordinate rapid coverage with newsroom partners during breaking news events. - Use Dash Hudson and Echobox to analyse performance, optimise campaigns, and prepare reporting dashboards. - Collaborate closely with editorial, video, and commercial teams to maximise traffic and monetisation opportunities. - Track and report on revenue performance for monetised platforms, meeting or exceeding quarterly targets. - Continuously analyse data to inform testing, best practices, and innovation. **Required Skills:** - Proven experience leading social media strategy for a large media or publishing brand. - Demonstrable success in meeting or exceeding social revenue and engagement KPIs. - Deep knowledge of Snapchat, YouTube and Facebook monetisation models. - Advanced proficiency in Dash Hudson, Echobox, and analytics tools. - Strong storytelling, creative vision, and audience insight. - Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and multitasking abilities. - Confident decision‑making under pressure with a newsroom‑style reactive mindset. - Collaborative, proactive, and passion for digital growth and innovation. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Relevant degree or journalism qualification preferred; experience a key factor.
