Job title: Data Analytics Intern
Role Summary:
Summer 2026 internship on the Data & Analytics team. Responsibilities include data engineering, data management, and analytics within a hybrid Azure and Google Cloud environment, following analytics governance and industry best practices.
Expactations:
- Build and maintain a robust hybrid data ecosystem on Azure and GCP.
- Identify, automate, and parametrize ingestion, storage, and processing workflows.
- Design and populate a comprehensive data catalog (business, technical, operational metadata).
- Collaborate across teams, provide technical recommendations, troubleshoot issues, and refine processes.
- Deliver projects on schedule, learning new tools quickly and communicating findings clearly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use Azure tools (Data Factory, Databricks, Analysis Services, Power Apps, Power BI, Purview) and GCP tools (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Vertex AI, Dataplex) to develop and maintain data pipelines.
- Assess current analytics ecosystem, propose framework enhancements, and implement automated solutions.
- Create and manage a data catalog with detailed metadata.
- Debug and optimize complex data pipelines, ensuring data quality and reliability.
- Participate in project initiatives, cross‑functional collaboration, and process improvement activities.
Required Skills:
- Strong programming in Python and SQL; experience with an ETL tool (Azure Data Factory, Google Dataflow, Airflow, DataStage, Talend, or Informatica).
- Hands‑on knowledge of Azure (Data Factory, Databricks, Power BI, Purview) and GCP (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Vertex AI, Dataplex).
- Deep understanding of data engineering, platform engineering, data modeling, data management, and DevOps concepts.
- Ability to analyze, profile, and debug data pipelines and logic.
- Methodical, detail‑oriented, and a quick learner with strong communication and listening skills.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field (at least sophomore level or senior, or equivalent).
- No mandatory certifications; knowledge of Azure and GCP is required.
