Job Description
**Job Title** Data Analyst **Role Summary** Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of data solutions on the enterprise data platform, ensuring alignment with information governance standards and strategic objectives. **Expectations** - 12‑month engagement, remote (Canadian EST timezone). - Must hold Government of Canada reliability/secret/top‑secret clearance. **Key Responsibilities** - Collect, document, and analyze information management and data requirements. - Design and implement data solutions using the client’s platform technologies. - Create, review, and validate conceptual, logical, and physical data models to ensure architectural fit. - Design and optimize data flows for migration and modernize legacy ETL processes. - Collaborate with governance analysts and data architects to enforce compliance with governance standards. - Communicate requirements, issues, and solutions to stakeholders in a clear, audience‑tailored manner. - Validate and test developed solutions against existing or proxy datasets. **Required Skills** - 7+ years SQL programming and refactoring experience. - Proficient in SQL, Python, and Apache Spark (Databricks). - Experienced in dimensional and relational data modeling. - Reverse‑engineering legacy ETL (Data Manager) and source‑to‑target mapping. - Implementing medallion architecture in Databricks. - Knowledge of Microsoft Azure or other public cloud platforms. - Agile delivery experience. - Strong analytical, communication, time‑management, and interpersonal skills. - Bilingual in English and French (preferred). - Government security clearance: Reliability/Secret/Top Secret (mandatory). **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred). - Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Databricks Certified Data Engineer, or equivalent are advantageous.
