**Job Title:** Sr. DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Lead production support and automation for large‑scale, cloud‑native web applications. Drive reliability, scalability, and security through infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and monitoring. Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to maintain uptime and performance.
**Expectations:**
- Maintain 24/7 availability of mission‑critical services.
- Deliver automated, repeatable deployment pipelines.
- Serve as technical SME for product stability and performance.
- Resolve escalated incidents, enforce SLAs, and implement preventive controls.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design, implement, and troubleshoot production automation (deployment, configuration, capacity management).
- Build internal tooling for stability monitoring and alerting.
- Analyze and report operational metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide actionable feedback to development on system health.
- Lead root‑cause analysis, post‑mortem reviews, and corrective actions.
- Automate repetitive tasks and enhance support tooling.
- Collaborate across cross‑functional teams to ensure secure, fault‑tolerant architecture.
- Handle escalations from L1/L2 support, providing timely resolution for infrastructure and application issues.
- Execute security hardening, vulnerability management, and patching initiatives.
- Monitor performance with APM tools and proactively mitigate degradation.
**Required Skills:**
- Extensive production support experience for secure, scalable, fault‑tolerant web applications.
- Strong scripting/programming in Bash, Python, or similar.
- Expertise in Windows and Linux administration.
- Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, CDN configuration (Cloudflare, Akamai).
- Proficiency with web/application servers: Apache, Tomcat, WebLogic, Nginx, Redis, Solr, Nirvana, WSO2.
- Hands‑on with CI/CD & DevOps tools: GitHub, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Nexus, Ansible, Puppet, StackStorm.
- Containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) deployment skills.
- Cloud experience (AWS, GCP) and infrastructure automation (IaC).
- Monitoring expertise: AppDynamics, Instana, New Relic, etc.
- Incident response, root‑cause analysis, and preventive engineering.
- Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or similar) preferred but not mandatory.
