Job Description

**Job title**: Senior Backend Engineer **Role Summary**: Design, build, and maintain the data pipeline, API infrastructure, and analytical stack that powers Doxel’s AI-driven construction insights. Own end‑to‑end processing of 360° video, IoT sensor data, and project schedules, ensuring low‑latency, reliable, and extensible services for web and local‑first front‑end applications. Collaborate with product, frontend, CV, and ML teams to integrate advanced models and WebAssembly (Wasm) computation. **Expectations**: - Deliver robust, production‑grade backend components with strong error handling and scalability. - Mentor peers and champion best practices in design, testing, and performance optimization. - Balance rapid iteration with long‑term maintainability and system reliability. - Continuously learn and apply emerging technologies (e.g., DuckDB, Wasm, Airflow) to meet evolving business needs. **Key Responsibilities**: - Design, develop, and maintain REST/GraphQL APIs for Three.js and DuckDB‑powered front‑ends. - Extend and optimize idempotent ETL pipelines using Apache Airflow. - Build and manage data storage layers: analytical workloads in DuckDB and transactional data in PostgreSQL. - Implement robust ingestion pipelines for 360° video, project schedules, and IoT sensor streams. - Integrate WebAssembly modules for local‑first computation to reduce server round‑trips. - Develop diagnostic tools for data quality monitoring and pipeline performance. - Collaborate with CV/ML engineers to deploy 3D computer vision models. - Identify and abstract complexity into scalable data processing paradigms. **Required Skills**: - 5+ years of professional experience in Python, C++, TypeScript, or equivalent functional language. - 3+ years of backend or full‑stack engineering in an agile, cloud‑native environment. - 2+ years of ETL pipeline and workflow orchestration (Airflow) development. - Proficiency with Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud deployment pipelines. - Experience with PostgreSQL and analytical databases (DuckDB or similar). - Knowledge of WebAssembly (Wasm) and in‑browser computation patterns. - Strong grasp of data modeling, API design, and performance tuning. **Required Education & Certifications**: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). ---
